Women in the Workforce: Our commitment to gender inclusivity at Staff Australia.

At Staff Australia, we take pride in our commitment to social inclusivity and diversity. Supporting women in the Australian workforce isn't just about creating gender equality; it's about harnessing the exceptional potential and talent that women can bring to the table.

Beyond morality, supporting women at any company is a smart business move. Just like men, women are committed to driving innovation, creativity, and productivity in the workplace. This is evident at Staff Australia, as a matter of fact, more than 70% of our internal workforce is built and run by women, which sets a benchmark for inclusivity and empowerment within the corporate landscape.

A 2019 research report, written by McKinsey & Company, highlights that companies who operate in a gender-diverse environment, are 25% more likely to outperform their less diverse counterparts both operationally and financially. (Dixon-Fyle, S. et al. 2020)

Staff Australia values every voice by continuing to foster a culture of inclusivity and authenticity.

We support female leadership.

While its evident that the Australian workforce is ‘starting to look a more female’, The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) has outlined that women continue to be underrepresented in high status jobs and leadership roles. As of 2021, less than 33% of all key management personnel in Australia identify as female. (WGEA 2020)

Staff Australia seeks to be different by championing gender equality and actively supporting women through their professional journey. Many of our managers and team leaders are women who have made their way up the ladder and continue to serve Staff Australia down the path of industry success.

We’re all about empowerment.

We work to empower everyone who has an interest with our company’s mission and values, big and small. This includes our employees, candidates, clients, and community.

We consider empowerment to be an underrated skill which is essential to thriving in today’s economic landscape. Being a gender-diverse business invites new perspectives, enhances our problem-solving abilities and encourages effective decision-making.

We’re committed to fairness.

Staff Australia works hard to find the right person for the job, regardless of gender. By creating a supportive environment for women in our workforce, we’ve seen a ripple effect which has extended beyond our walls and has contributed to society as a whole. Women who are treated fairly and are taken seriously in the corporate world (economically, physically and mentally), are more likely to reinvest in their families and communities, further contributing to overall societal development.

We’re open to change.

According to The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA), in 1966 only 30% of the workforce was comprised of female workers, now the Australian workforce is 47.9% female! (WGEA 2022)

This is because so many Australian women are persistent and committed to growth.

By championing an inclusive environment and supporting personal growth, our team at Staff Australia remains at the forefront of innovation, and we are constantly evolving to meet the demands of an ever-changing world. This means hiring more women!

In Summary

We can see that the Australian labour force is following suit and has become increasingly dedicated to the prioritization of gender equality. We are steadily moving forward. The Australian workforce is actively working towards building a future where every individual, regardless of gender, has an equal opportunity to thrive and succeed in the workforce. Staff Australia is proud to be a supporter of this nationwide goal.

“Staff Australia is truly blessed to have such an amazing group of strong, intelligent, talented and simply wonderful women as part of our team. Together, we are building a brighter future where everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed, and I am excited to see where this incredible team can take us.” – Vanessa, Branch Manager (Hallam)
