A fantastic opportunity exists for an experienced ‘hands on’ Site Manager to join a supplier and distributor of automotive parts and accessories in Dandenong on a permanent full time basis.

As the Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the Warehouse and Assembly/Installation teams. You will manage, lead, and motivate a small team of 12 staff members, whilst driving system & process improvements to increase operational efficiencies on the site.

Duties will include, although are not limited to:

  • Manage the running of an efficient warehouse operation which can fulfil operational and customer demand and meet set targets
  • Manage the assembly team to co-ordinate daily pre-assembly, fitting and distribution of automotive parts
  • Stock management and reporting to head office interstate
  • Be willing to assist with store duties including loading/unloading trucks, picking and packing orders and pre-assembly or fitment of parts during busy periods
  • Customer relationship management and office based duties
  • Manage and co-ordinate efficient product distribution and logistics of regional freight
  • Identify any systems improvements and make recommendations for change
  • Ensure all OH&S guidelines are followed to ensure a safe working environment

To be considered for this position you will have:

  • Proven experience with solid leadership capability in a ‘hands on’ role, with the ability to lead, mentor and manage a team of skilled people to achieve targets
  • A willingness to divide work time between assembly/warehouse and office based duties
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic hand tool experience
  • Automotive, manufacturing or engineering experience highly regarded
  • Lateral thinker with the ability to make timely decisions
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills with a ‘can do’ attitude
  • Intermediate computer skills with experience with warehouse management systems (SAP an advantage)
  • Manual driver’s licence essential
  • LF Forklift Licence and/or MR Truck licence an advantage but not essential
