Service Technician

A fantastic opportunity exists for a Service Technician to join our client in the Northern suburbs, who is a world leader specialising in manufacturing conveyor solutions for a broad range of industries in more than 100 companies worldwide.

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for the onsite workshop, conveyor belt installations, belt splicing and other technical support functions:

Your duties will include, although are not limited to:

• Perform conveyor belt installations, repairs and maintenance to ensure optimal performance for clients
• Perform Thermodrive conveyor belt splicing using specialised semi automatic tool (training will be provided)
• Provide support, training & troubleshooting to resolve any warranty issues for clients
• Conduct in house product testing to meet client specifications
• Manage tradeshow & training demonstration equipment
• Maintain a clean and organised workshop and adhere to all OH&S requirements
• Travel interstate and internationally when required for client support or to provide on-site repairs or replacements
• Collaborate with internal teams to support ongoing projects related to belt splicing and product testing

To be considered for this position, you will have:

• 2-3 years’ experience in a similar trade / service technician role
• Exposure to conveyor belts & technologies an advantage but not essential
• Trade qualification, technical certificate or relevant vocational training preferred
• LF Forklift licence essential
• Ability to read technical/engineering drawings advantageous
• Practical and hands on with a mechanical aptitude
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be able to travel and have a current passport
• Positive “can do” attitude and the ability to work autonomously
