Location: MASCOT

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Assurance Officer to oversee and manage the daily quality control activities in our food manufacturing production area. The role involves ensuring all processes are followed correctly and products meet our stringent quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine and additional test sampling as per the company’s Microbiological Sampling Schedule.
  • Submit samples to the laboratory for testing and update the sampling schedule, noting any deviations.
  • Provide assistance to production staff with on-line quality queries.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) on site.
  • Oversee production procedures, such as line clearance and metal detection, and address any issues.
  • Conduct monthly GMP audits and raise supplier non-conformances, following up on corrective actions.
  • Record and manage internal and customer non-conformances, ensuring they are documented and updated in the national register.
  • Assist in investigating customer complaints and compiling technical responses.
  • Maintain and organize document control systems, including training records and production forms.
  • Monitor verification and calibration records across production, warehouse, and distribution, addressing any discrepancies.
  • Conduct staff training on food handling, hygiene, and other relevant topics, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Perform quality checks on production lines, including weight checks, ingredient traceability, and metal detection.
  • Conduct monthly audits for Glass and Hard Plastic.
  • Assist the QA Coordinator with site audits and follow-up on non-conformances.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A qualification in Food Technology or Science is desirable, or extensive experience in a high-care facility.
  • In-depth knowledge of HACCP principles.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement methods and change management.
  • Experience in influencing and implementing change within a team or independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and the ability to quickly learn internal systems.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
