About the Role Reporting to the Distribution Manager, you will oversee all picking, packing, and dispatch activities within the warehouse. You will work closely with a small team, ensuring customer orders and stock transfers are processed accurately, safely, and within required timeframes.
This is a hands-on, floor-based leadership role – ideal for someone who enjoys balancing operational execution with team supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
Lead safe picking, packing, and loading practices.
Ensure compliance with WHS and Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements.
Conduct toolbox talks and monitor PPE and manual handling standards.
Outbound Operations
Allocate and manage daily picking workloads.
Supervise and actively assist with picking, packing, staging, and dispatch.
Ensure all outbound orders meet DIFOT and next-day delivery requirements.
Oversee dispatch documentation accuracy.
Manage returns, rework, and waste processes.
Team Leadership
Coach, support, and motivate a small outbound team.
Set clear performance expectations around productivity, accuracy, and safety.
Provide hands-on training and performance feedback.
Escalate any performance or conduct matters when required.
Reporting & Coordination
Monitor outbound volumes, errors, and delays.
Provide daily reporting to management.
Liaise with Inventory, Transport, and Customer Service teams to ensure smooth order flow.
What We’re Looking For
Experience in warehouse or distribution centre operations (outbound/dispatch focus).
Previous experience leading or supervising a small team.
Strong knowledge of picking, packing, staging, and loading processes.
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
Experience using WMS/ERP systems and MS Office (Excel, Outlook).
Excellent communication skills.
Forklift licence and understanding of WHS/CoR requirements (desirable).
